Nerf Gun Reviews

All of the following guns that are reviewed I have used.

Armor Shot

Rating: 6/10
This gun has a funky design that is not very useful at all, and the only up about this gun is it has a fair range. It is basically like a normal sidearm except that it shoots to weird, and because of this I would choose a more practically designed gun.

Auto Grip

Rating: 4/10
This gun is absolutely horrible!! It straps onto your arm which actually hinders you rather than allowing more free space. And even if it didn't do much the range is so cruddy its hard to hit something five feet away! While its a cute design it is deffinently not effective.

Ballzooka

Rating: 7/10
This gun is way underrated!! I know it has horrible range and accuracy and shoots balls, this is definately the indoor gun of choice! This thing houses eight balls and can shoot very rapidly. Who needs accuracy when you have this many balls coming at you? I hope people will get my point.

Big Bad Bow

Rating: 8/10
The big bad bow is the snipers milkshake! Much better than the old bow, this bow HAS MORE POWER AND COCKS! Its speed it unequaled in any nerf gun I know, making it virtually impossible to dodge. This things arrows are unlike normal arrows as they are spiraled, making them not bent as easily. I really do recommend this, however it is not too good if you are an attacker or at the front of the line.

Bow and Arrow

Rating: 6.5/10
The bow and arrow has allot of fame and time to claim it. However, I don;t think it deserves the honor it has. After all, it has a manual launching and its easy to accidentally discharge it. It also uses arrows which means that the slightest bend in them will make them go way off course. Its not too powerful so the range isn't too great. It will only store two extra missiles so if you miss with them your'e practically dead because you can't hold a second weapon it's so big.

Chainblazer

Rating:8/10
This gun is almost a masterpiece! It holds eight rounds rapid fire sort of like the ballzooka except it shoots darts which means it has a MUCH better range. So what more could you ask for? I'll tell you what. The accuracy is so horrible by the way you have to shoot it that on average at five feet two out of the eight will hit! Also this gun has been known for jamming, and I have seen a chain break before.

Comm Link II

(No picture available)

Rating: 7/10
Most people won't even consider this gun because it's so costly. The reason for this is the walkie-talkie. I will say the walkie-talkie is a piece of crud, but the actual gun part is great! It shoots almost as far as the eagle eye and is alot easier to cock, and it also holds two extra rounds. I love having a combo of two of these, and these are so accurate that with two shoots you are bound to hit someone, even at long range! I got two of these at a thrift store for $.99 each.

Crossbow

Rating: 9/10
If you read the big bad bow review you would see how much I like as a sniper weapon, well I like this doubly so! This is a cruddy toy when unmodified, but when it is this is a sniping machine. This has a range that is even farther than the eagle eye! Not to mention it is pinpoint accurate. The only downside is it is one-shot, but what can you expect from such a long range gun?

Defender T-3

Rating: 2/10
This is a flimsy piece of crud. That's all I have to say.

Eagle Eye

Rating: 7.5/10
The eagle eye is one of the most long range guns I have. The accuracy is greatly reduced because you can't see the barrel as the sight is over it. It is sort of hard to cock and that really requires two hands so its hard to have a weapon in the other hand. However, the sight is very good in night fight missions.

Electric Eel

Rating: 3/10
This weapon is more a play toy than a nerf war toy. It has no range whatsoever, and the clip frequently falls out. However, it is fun to tourn the lights out and shoot the darts at things.

Expand-A-Blast

Rating: 5/10
This gun has allot of fancy features such as the extendable barrel as well as s "hyper sight". It also looks really neat. However, all of these features are useless. As proven with many other nerf guns, sights never help for anything. And when you extend the barrel it absolutely does nothing but makes the bullet fall out. This gun is a one-shot and doesn't have that great of a range, and the only pro is that it has a good ammo storage.

Iron Raptor

Rating: 6/10
This gun is not any better than a standard sidearm, and in fact has a little bit lower range. It holds two extra bullets which is ok, and it shoots one shot at intermediate range. Not anything too poor or too great about it.

Lock n' Load

Rating: 9/10
The Lock n' Load is THE farthest shooting sidearm in the history of nerf. This can hit somebody all the way at the other end of the yard, and I've done it too! The only big drawback is its accuracy is decreased a little because it shoots high (although it still is highly accurate). It also has a pretty high rate of fire for a single shot weapon because it is so easy to cock.

Manta Ray

Rating: 7/10
The manta ray is a pretty cool weapon. First off, it is huge and designed to be like a shield. However, most people don't play that you can use the shield. But secondly and most importantly, it holds four rounds, and you can either choose to shoot two at a time or four at once. The rounds have a good spread so it is extremely hard to dodge this gun. However, the range is a bit lacking.

Master Blaster

Rating: 2/10
This was one of the first nerf guns so what do you expect? It uses balls which makes it have an effective range of about 8 feet, it has the weirdest firing mechanism seen, and its is way bulky. I don't recommend you get this one.

Nitro Quad

Rating: 7.5/10
While this gun is a little awkward and lacks range, its ability to hold four darts ready to go is quite handy. This is probably my holdout weapon of choice because it can shoot one dart at a time meaning it gets four shots without reloading. Also it can be a good assault weapon because it has a fair rate of fire and can shoot two darts at once.

Ratchet Blast

Rating: 7/10
This gun is an ok assault gun, but not very good at anything else. It holds four darts that can be shot very rapidly which is good, but it has a very poor range making it horrible for outdoors. However, it does also have a good ammo storage.

Rattler

Rating: 5/10
While being able to hold four darts ready to go and has a fair range, the rattler has no accuracy due to its poor shooting mechanism. If you want an assault weapon like this but without the weird firing mechanism I would go for the ratchet blast.

Razor Fin

Rating: 6/10
The razor fin is not really a very good weapon, primarily because its range is totally horrible. The ONLY reason I would ever use this in a nerf war is it has two darts ready to go. However, the Sharpshooter II has the same sort of thing and is alot better.

Rip Chord

Rating: 7/10
The rip chord is actually a little bit better of a weapon than I thought it would be. I don't know any other nerf weapon that uses a pull chord, but I like it. The pull chord can make it shoot all five of its darts off in no time, killing pretty much anything that steps in front of it. However, the pull chord is very awkward drastically reducing the guns accuracy. On average only one or two of the shots will actually hit, but thats still better than say a one shot crossbow for instance.

Secret Shot

Rating: 8/10
The secret shot is definately an awesome sidearm, and I would say about ties the Lock n' Load. It shoots almost as far but shoots a second dart from the bottom. The only downside is that it shoots micro darts, but everything else about it is very good.

Secret Shot II

(No picture available)

Rating: 6/10
This gun is very different than the original secret shot, and pretty much worse. For one thing this gun is pump meaning it takes alot longer to reload than cocking, and I tested out that it shoots just within a foot of the original. I really don't recommend this gun because there are so many other guns that are better.

Sharpshooter II

Rating: 6.5/10
Most people say thee SSII shoots really far and I believe them, but I bought mine used and I think the spring is very weak, and this rating and whole review I am talking about MY SSII. As I said mine has a bad range for the top barrel, but the bottom can shoot pretty far. The good thing about this gun is it holds two shots so you can out rate of fire amny of the snipers.

Sneak Shot

Rating: 6/10
The sneak shot is all but worthless around corners for what it is meant for. However, it is an ok long range gun but it has a poor cocking mechanism like the eagle eye.

Split Shot

(No picture available)

Rating: 7/10
Although the split shot looks very cheesy and its very obvious its an off-brand, it is actually a pretty cool gun. It shoots two shots at once and there is a handle with a trigger to separate the barrels, giving them a good spread. While it has horrible range and accuracy with the darts it comes with, if you use nerf micro darts it can shoot very far.

Super Maxx 3000

Rating: 9/10
This gun is the awesomest all around gun in the nerf world yet! Able to hold eight shots and shoot at extremely far distances, what more could you ask for? This gun is great for strafing assaulting defending, and sniping! The only problem is sometimes the barrel skips.

Tornado

Rating: 8/10
The tornado is the longest range nerf gun ever invented. It shoots small rings which make it go incredibly far but they go way off course at the slightest wind, and also go really slow which means they are easy to dodge. However, this gun can hit pretty much anything that you can see. This gun is great for sniping in bases at enemies a long way off.

Triple Torch

Rating: 7.5/10
The triple torch is an awesome weapon only when firing micro darts, which is sort of a drawback. However, it shoots these darts extremely far and I can hit people with more ease than I can with my modified crossbow! If you like one shot long range guns this ones for you.

Ultimator

Rating: 5/10
This weapon shoots a huge missile farther than any nerf gun I have known in my life! However, it takes GOBS of time to reload and when you do have it ready you CANNOT hit anything past 25 feet or its luck! I don't advise you waist your money on this.

Whiptail Scorpion

(No picture available)

Rating: 5/10
This gun is absolutely horrible! It shoots micro darts at extremely low ranges and the tail takes time to whip up as well as drastically reducing its accuracy. I very much do not recommend this gun.
